DTC’s Operational Excellence teams are responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement across the WBD Engineering community to ensure smooth efficient operation and the highest customer satisfaction. We are the team responsible for streamlining Incident Management, Problem Management, and Quality of Experience frameworks across the WBD DTC Global Tech organization. Our objective is to build engineering solutions that enable us to quickly and efficiently mitigate customer impact, distinguish signal from noise, capture trending issues, and drive prioritization to restore the customer experience as soon as possible with minimal handoffs. 

The right candidate will have a deep passion for the operation of large-scale cloud-based products and services, possess a strong program management background, with a proven ability not to be deterred by ambiguity or competing priorities. Solid understanding of Observability (logging, metrics, tracing) and Incident Management workflows (alerts, runbooks, severity mapping) are needed to drive improvements in data-driven Operational Excellence workflows as part of service lifecycle managementThis is a unique opportunity for a leader who can drive operational efficiency and minimize customer impact with a focus on enabling next-gen operating models and technology landscapes. You are an agent of change, a master collaborator who will hold the organization to a high-quality bar that hinges on the principles of Quality and Continuous Improvement. Strong customer success obsession, maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role. 

  

Expectations: 

 

Scope & Complexity: You work laterally across the WBD Streaming Tech Org, you have experience identifying and managing dependencies and stakeholders cross teams. You're able to take an ambiguous problem statement related to your subject-matter area to drive project deliverables over multiple iterations to achieve the right outcome.  

Decision Making: You are able to act as a representative for your area autonomously. Your decisions are right, far more often than not. You play a leadership role in the organization: teams look to you for advice on technical and business issues.  

Execution: You establish enterprise-wide policies and keep processes under control. You manage and govern the transformation process based on automated operational governance processes using a model-driven approach. 

Operations : You apply processes and standards thoughtfully with bias towards automation, identifying the right amount of process and structure to achieve the correct outcome with the least overhead.  

Communication: Your written, verbal communication skills are exemplary, concise and to the point, making you the initial point of contact for business and technical stakeholders. You are the point of contact for data related to your product, services, and features.  

 

 Preferred Skills: 

 

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience supporting Observability, Reliability operations and Incident and Problem Management workflows. 

  • Proven ability to drive change through the delivery of Infrastructure, Applications development, Direct-to-Consumer Streaming technology and Incident Management. 

  • Must be able to project org-wide influence without authority to instill a culture of ownership, rigor and accountability. 

  • You are highly adaptable to changing business needs and be able to drive change across multiple disciplines within the engineering and operations world.  

  • Ability to focus both strategically and tactically to achieve business goals, including the use of data to drive improvements. 

  • Ability to evaluate and communicate strategy, operational health, and incident workflow plans to executive leadership. 

  • Must possess high levels of genuine curiosity, a questioning attitude and a passion for learning and solving problems programmatically. 

  • You must be proactive, self-directed, adept at note-taking and skilled at facilitating meetings by utilizing effective presentation skills 

  • Demonstrated ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, decide and influence appropriate courses of action. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders at all levels of the organization demonstrating strong executive presence 

  • Proven ability to work independently, effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. 

  • Experience providing services to large scale, multi-national footprints, preferably in customer facing industries.
