The Comcast internship/co-op program will help you cultivate meaningful relationships, develop strong interpersonal and business skills, gain exposure to the day-to-day operations of a Fortune 40 media and technology company, and receive mentorship opportunities to expand your professional network.  

This program immerses students into the daily operation of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. The student becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units. 

Organization & Team Overview 

Xfinity Growth, Innovation, and Experience (XGIE) drives business growth and customer engagement with emphasis on how Xfinity takes its products and services to market — and delivering a reliable, end-to-end experience to our customers, no matter which market or region they live in. XGIE teams are responsible for Xfinity brand and product strategy, including its video, broadband, voice, home, and mobile products, as well as consumer sales and marketing, digital platforms, and data intelligence.   

 

The Strategic Partnerships team sits within the Marketing organization of XGIE, playing a business development and marketing function to maximize value from programming partnerships, driving engagement and revenue. Our team is responsible for the management and growth of 250+ programming partnerships from broadcast networks such as NBC and ABC to subscription services such as Starz and AMC+ and streaming apps including Netflix and Apple TV+. In addition to a dynamic team of strategic partnership leads, we have a data analytics group committed to developing insights and analysis that drive our business decisions related to platform and partner growth and a Multicultural strategy and activation team. 

 

Role Description

As a Strategic Partnerships Intern, you will have the opportunity to work across programming partners, network with internal groups including Editorial, Marketing and Operations and deep dive into additional distribution platforms to lead competitive analysis on partnerships and offers as well as create and manage top premiere schedules to inform content strategy. 

What are some interesting problems the student will work on?  

In this role you will be our eyes and ears outside of Comcast to manage competitive analysis of other video and entertainment platforms. What can we learn from them? How are we differentiated from them?  

You will get to apply your passion for television by identifying and organizing key premieres for the partnerships team to leverage in our content strategy for driving engagement and revenue. Which premieres are acquisition driving vs engagement driving and how does the content windowing affect our approach? 

Job Responsibilities 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Develop and execute competitive reviews of other distribution platforms including content sampling, offers and bundles, merchandising, advertising and partnerships. Summarize and present findings with recommendations and opportunities. 
  • Evaluate and track content opportunities by remaining current on tv programming trends and program availability among networks, SVODs, cancellations, premieres with a focus on acquisition driving vs engagement driving opportunities 
  • Develop partner resource materials on customer journey and partnership opportunities, working with key stakeholders across Editorial, Marketing, Operations and Product 
  • Complete exercises on content windowing and availability by partner 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

 

Preferred Skills 

  • Excel and PowerPoint proficient; Excellent oral and written presentation skills   
  • Strategic thinker with ability to conduct marketing research and analyze trends to identify opportunities and risks 
  • Project Management: ability to set a project plan with deadlines and key deliverables 
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance  
  • Preferred Majors: Marketing, Business, Communications 

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements 

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university  
  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2025- Spring 2027)  
  • Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2025 semester before graduating) 
  • Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program- June 2 through August 15, 2025 
  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs 
  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)

Compensation

Base Pay: $23.00
