The Caterpillar Energy & Transportation Segment (E&T) has a broad portfolio of products and services which include engines, generator sets, industrial gas turbines and locomotives, along with other related equipment depending on the industry and application. We deliver these products and services to Cat machine, oil & gas, power generation, transportation and industrial customers.

Job Summary

The Global Director of Talent Management leads the development and implementation of talent strategies supporting a 35,000+ employee workforce, provides expertise on succession planning policies and practices and leads employee development efforts all aligned with business objectives.

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate with senior management as a strategic advisor helping identify and prioritize talent initiatives that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Design and implement talent programs for the Energy & Transportation Segment which promote employee development, retention, performance and succession.
  • Act as a trusted coach providing guidance to leaders and managers on talent related matters, including performance management, succession planning, employee development, etc.
  • Analyze talent data to identify trends and opportunities to provide data-driven, strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Lead, support, and influence the design and approach of talent-focused change efforts impacting highly matrixed lines of business.
  • Employ design thinking ideology to develop creative and impactful solutions to business-critical problems.

What You Have:

  • Influencing: Expert level knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
  • Managing multiple priorities: Extensive knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Data gathering and reporting: Extensive knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.
  • Talent transformation: Extensive knowledge of the concept and strategies of talent transformation; ability to harness the potential and skills of employees to help them reach leadership positions while achieving the organization's strategic business objectives.
  • Succession planning: Extensive Knowledge of policies, techniques, methods and processes of succession planning; ability to identify and develop internal employees for the future fulfillment of an organization's core positions.
  • Talent management: Expert level knowledge of how an organization attracts, recruits, retains, identifies and develops talent; ability to develop the talent required for an organization to achieve its short-term and long-term goals.
  • Training and development: Extensive Knowledge of employee training and development methodologies; ability to ensure that a target population has the knowledge and skills required to meet both tactical and strategic objectives.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field or equivalent experience.
