Position Title: Accounting Clerk

Department: Finance

Reports To: Controller

Classification: Full-time, Exempt

Compensation: Minimum salary of  $66,650 based on experience                        

 

Position Summary: Essential  Functions:

 

Assists with daily and monthly  full cycle accounting  tasks

  • Assists in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities relating to: financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with state and federal law, and ASM policies and procedures.
  • Assists accounting staff with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and other accounting functions.
  • Coordinates approvals and inquiries with various other department staff relating to payments and receivables as needed
  • Assists with event settlements including preparing and uploading journal entries
  • Prepares and performs bank reconciliations.
  • Assists with the preparation of all financial reporting, including: o         Prepares and uploads journal entries
    • Assists staff accountants with maintaining all financial reconciliations and general ledger analysis
    • Maintains general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
    • Verifies and checks the accuracy of general ledger coding.
    • Prepares and analyzes information for: financial statements and reports.
    • Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
    • Assists internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
    • Coordinates preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting. Works with auditors in verifying financial information/procedures.
    • Other Accounting  functions  as required  by Senior staff.

Experience/Training/Education:

Required:                     B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university or at least 1 to 3 years experience in public accounting and/or finance

License/Certificate:

No certifications are required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of:

General and cost accounting

Math with high aptitude for numbers

Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics accounting software preferred Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Ability to:

Communicate effectively and efficiently both verbally and in writing Work  with and maintain  highly  confidential information

Supervise others

Skill to:

Learn and adapt to the live event industry and all the relevant course of business therein

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

This position requires sitting at the computer for prolonged periods of time. Occasionally some stooping, bending and lifting may be required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for review of statistical and other financial records and information.
