We’re looking for a bright experienced Corporation Tax Manager to provide tax reporting, compliance and assurance services to the business and finance colleagues ensuring that all tax filings are compliant with accounting standards, tax law and consistent with our Tax Strategy. 

As a Tax Manager you will be responsible for the preparation of annual corporation tax returns, preparation of numbers required for tax forecasting, assisting with monthly and quarterly reporting and advising the business and assisting the Head of Tax on projects as required.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Preparing the tax provision amounts for tax reporting both within the UK and to Spain on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Liaising with group tax team and external auditors
  • Supporting stakeholders with high quality data and management information, enabling effective and accurate decision making. Challenging and supporting through planning and budgeting activity
  • Managing the Corporation Tax compliance process for the department to ensure that deadlines are met
  • Preparing the annual Corporation Tax returns, and preparation of responses associated with HMRC correspondence for a portfolio of companies within the Santander UK group
  • Providing support as required for the preparation of numbers required for tax forecasting and payments on account

What you’ll bring:

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

  • CTA, ATT, AAT, ACA, CIMA or equivalent qualified with thorough knowledge of Corporation Tax legislation and practice
  • Ability to explain technical tax concepts concisely, clearly and in a non-jargonistic manner - in verbal and written format
  • Professional and credible communicator - ability to forge good working relationships at all levels, including tax authorities and external advisors

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Good time management skills with a proven ability to deliver results in a proactive ‘self-starter’ manner
  • Working knowledge of Bank Levy, Bank Surcharge and Stamp tax legislation and practice
  • Knowledge gained from within a Financial Services Retail Banking organisation or Financial Services exposure within a major Accountancy Practice

If you apply for this role in this location, it’s important you consider your travelling distance, time and cost from your home to the office location.

This role is based in Carlton Park, and you will be expected to spend two days per month of your time in this office.  We’re happy to discuss specific working patterns and arrangement within this hybrid approach during the recruitment process.
