About the position 

We are looking for an experienced Learning and Development Specialist to help our Talent Development team create management and professional skills content and facilitate training for Jane Street employees in our Hong Kong and Singapore offices. 

In this role, you will co-create and implement a learning strategy that supports Jane Street’s continuous growth in our Asian offices. This includes partnering with other team members to design, develop and deliver programmes and initiatives that cover the firm’s highest talent and learning priorities, such as communication, presentation, project management, leadership and manager development. You should be comfortable with public speaking and confident delivering these training sessions to both small and large groups. 

While this role sits within our firm’s HR team, there will also be opportunities for close collaboration with other internal groups like Trading, Technology and Infrastructure, as well as various external partners. Additional responsibilities of the role will include: 

  • Performing the research and needs analyses required to develop thoughtful content 
  • Identifying appropriate and detailed learning objectives based on business drivers and performance goals 
  • Using a content-development framework to create engaging and effective learning materials 
  • Designing comprehensive learning experiences to support a variety of modalities (e.g., self-paced online training, virtual classroom training, in-person classroom training or a blend thereof) 
  • Evaluating feedback and prioritising updates to improve experiences for future learners 

About you 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher; MBA or MA (in organisation development or similar) a plus 
  • 8+ years of experience in talent development or a similar field (e.g., human resources, organisational design or learning design), including hands-on experience implementing L&D programmes 
  • Knowledgeable in adult learning, learning design and programme development 
  • Experienced with developing and managing relationships with external partners 
  • Strategic thinker who can understand how all the organisational pieces fit together and make systemic recommendations accordingly 
  • Able to serve as a thought leader to other members of the HR team 
  • Highly collaborative and detail-oriented, able to work well in a flat organisational structure 
  • Adaptable multi-tasker with strong project management skills; able to communicate status, deadline and resource needs while effectively managing competing priorities to move work forward 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Fluency in English required
