Vanguard’s Financial Advisor Services (FAS) division is looking for a UX Strategist to direct the advisor experience strategy of a highly complex digital product that aims to support its Model Portfolios offers.
The role will partner with the Advisor Solutions Product team to deliver a cohesive digital and marketing experience, including activities related to advisor investment decision-making journey, financial product launch, and investment education/updates. A successful Strategist will become an integral part of the Product team that supports opportunity discovery, end-to-end UX and service design, end-to-end product and marketing experience, UX support for designers, and UX research.
Work closely with the Advisor Solutions Product and Offer teams to create, design, and implement an exceptional advisor experience for the Models Portfolio product family.
Acquire extensive knowledge about Vanguard offers, the investment landscape, and advisor needs related to the Models Portfolio subject matter to drive innovative solutions.
Employ a collaborative approach while taking ownership of the entire design thinking process to deliver exceptional results.
Cultivate robust partnerships with important members of the company to ensure that the needs of both the business and clients are aligned.
Collaborate and discover opportunities with various teams in FAS to establish meaningful connections for advisors that go beyond the Models Portfolio.
Use narrative storytelling techniques to create engaging materials for presentations to stakeholders and leadership.
Stay up to date with the latest technology, products, and features in the industry and competitors to determine potential enhancements.
Partner with UX researchers to conduct and synthesize research and data insights that inform product, offer, and UX decisions.
Plan, facilitate, and synthesize outcomes from design thinking workshops using human-centered design methods.
Operate with a dual-track workflow, focusing on near-term MVP deliverables while envisioning and mapping out the long-term path for the advisor experience.
Proactively seek opportunities to bring value through partnerships with Product, Offer, and Marketing teams.
Maintain resilience and a positive energy in the face of uncertainty.
Minimum five years of industry/field experience in user experience design.
Expertise in all areas of user experience design, including information architecture, interaction design, visual design, user research, and design thinking.
Demonstrated creativity, empathy, passion, and problem-solving ability.
Proven experience in solving complex communication problems and designing world-class experiences for large-scale programs.
Excellent communication skills, including storytelling and visualization, with the ability to garner support in a large organization.
Proficient in using data analysis techniques, both quantitative and qualitative, to inform design decisions.
Effective communication and collaboration skills with a demonstrated ability to gather information from experts in different areas.
Preferred experience in product design.
This role is part of our hybrid work model, with Tuesdays through Thursdays in our Vanguard Malvern PA office to foster collaboration and team building. While Mondays and Fridays are remote, fully remote work is not available for this role.
