Position Summary

The Product Manager, Clinical Data will lead the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of key data‑driven capabilities that support clinical interoperability and scalable data operations. This role will own the development and evolution of FHIR conversion pipelines, AI‑enabled tools that accelerate clinical data onboarding, patient identity and matching solutions, intelligent ingestion, and the alignment of product priorities with engineering operations.

The Product Manager will work closely with engineering, data science, clinical subject‑matter experts, and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure products are reliable, high‑quality, and meet the needs of our customers and internal teams. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in healthcare data, strong product management experience, and the ability to drive clarity and execution in highly technical environments.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare IT, clinical data systems, health interoperability, or closely related fields.
  • Proven, hands‑on experience as a Product Manager (or equivalent role) supporting complex technical products or platforms.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data standards, especially FHIR, HL7v2, CCD/CDA, and payer/provider clinical data workflows.
  • Experience working directly with engineering teams to build pipelines, APIs, data processing systems, or AI‑enabled tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to create product roadmaps, define requirements, manage backlogs, and drive execution in agile environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate clinical and operational needs into scalable technical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort operating with both highly technical teams and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or managing FHIR transformation pipelines or clinical data ingestion frameworks.
  • Prior work with patient identity resolution, probabilistic matching, or Master Patient Index solutions.
  • Exposure to AI/ML applications in data quality, data mapping, ingestion, or onboarding workflows.
  • Background in designing workflows for clinical, payer, or interoperability systems.
  • Experience aligning product strategy with engineering operational models (e.g., durable teams, platform operations, capacity planning).
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as CMS interoperability rules, TEFCA, and data privacy/security requirements (HIPAA).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a related field such as Healthcare IT, Health Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or a product‑related discipline.
    OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field with proven, hands‑on experience in product management.
  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA, MPH, MHI) is a plus.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
