Summary of Job Duties:

The Program Manager will be the primary point of contact for new oncology clinical trial business in the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute (WPRCI). The Program Manager must be able to organize complex projects, provide attention to detail, and communicate effectively. The position will be responsible for building relationships and communicating with clinical trial sponsors and industry representatives. The position will work closely with the Director of the Clinical Trials Office (CTO), the Assistant Director for Regulatory and Finance of the CTO, investigators, and other research offices at UAMS to manage objectives in support of the trial portfolio. The position will contribute information and ideas related to areas of responsibility as part of a cross functional team. The position ensures effective and efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards for staff/program and self. The position maintains a working knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and will apply knowledge in support of an assigned clinical trial portfolio and the objectives of the CTO.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the social or behavioral sciences such as psychology, social work, public health, sociology, anthropology, health science or related field plus 5 years of clinical research experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  3 years of study start-up and/or business development of clinical trials pipeline

  • 3 years Oncology experience

  • 15+ years Clinical Research experience

Responsibilities:

  • Performs project management duties, including creating comprehensive plan and project timelines, developing and managing processes, documenting project progress, ensuring adequate project resources, and providing evaluation reports and project summaries.

  • Manages the coordination of grant activities and implementation of grant objectives.

  • Assists and contributes to the continued development of marketing collateral and website(s) with updates of education materials, information, media, graphics, and other content updates.

  • Manages relationships and community outreach efforts to ensure the delivery of programs in the community.

  • Manages community stakeholders, contractors, and other partner relationships and organizes and facilitates meetings with stakeholders.

  • Assists in the recruitment, supervision, and guidance of student workers.

  • Attends a variety of project meetings and training sessions.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
