The Boeing Company is on the lookout for talented Aircraft Sealers to join their Joint and Installation team in Everett and Renton, WA. This is an exciting opportunity to enjoy one of the most artistic jobs in the production system while completing a critical process essential to aircraft performance and function!
As an Aircraft Sealer, you will work within a final assembly/fabrication environment by drawing on knowledge acquired from training and certification classes to complete your daily assigned work. By interpreting drawings and reading/comprehending work instructions you will be responsible for identifying your work location on the airplane/part/tooling and identifying all required hand tools, proper sealant and equipment to accomplish defect-free work.
Position Responsibilities:
Using a computer in a production environment.
Look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications.
Clean and apply sealant to fuel tank items and airplane components such as floors, ribs, spars, wing panels and body structures.
Appropriate protective clothing/equipment determined by the task you are performing.
Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g., scissors lifts, elevated work platforms).
Chemical solvents, sealants, cleaners.
Once your work is completed per testing requirement you’ll inspect your work for quality and check for FOD (Foreign Object Debris).
Finger manipulation (keyboarding, other).
Reading from a computer screen, printed drawings or documents.
Frequent (3-6 Hrs) working around fumes and with chemicals and exposure to constant noise.
Frequent (3-6 Hrs) flexion/extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching (overhead), rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist, laying down (back, side, front), walking.
Lifting and carrying up to 10-35 pounds.
Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), Crawling, Crouching (squatting).
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Ability to climb ladders at heights up to 15 feet and stairs on a regular basis.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
1+ years of experience applying paints and/or sealants in an industrial environment.
1+ years of experience with chemical technology or a material focus area: paints, coatings, finishes, and/or sealants.
1+ years of experience working in a fast paced, high volume environment.
Enrolled in a Boeing partnered manufacturing related high school or community and technology college academic program.
Typical Education & Experience:
High school diploma and/or General Education Diploma (GED).
Relocation:
