Role Overview

As an Accountant within our General Ledger team (6 associates), you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization. You’ll collaborate with a team of 40 professionals based in Geneva, covering various Finance functions across Europe and Asia. Reporting to senior staff, you’ll apply accounting principles, ensure compliance with standards, and contribute to accurate financial reporting.

Accounting Responsibilities:

Performs month-end close activities, and partners with more senior associates for complex activities. Participate to the drafting of financial statements as required.

Reconciles accounts and prepares variance analysis; identifies and explains issues (e.g., variances outside of established norms) and escalates to senior associates for guidance.

Update internal documentation and procedures, adjusting journal entries, analytics and reports; revises communication and collaborates with key stakeholders in accordance with impact assessment of new or changing transactions and accounting standards, as advised by F&R.

Assists with external audits, understanding auditor’s requests and responding with proper documentation; seeks guidance from more senior associates on complex requests.

Technology and Data Integration: leverage new technologies to drive efficiencies and reach operational excellence, actively participate in the multi-year finance transformation program., cultivate an interest in working with data, recognizing its strategic importance.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Finance related university degree or its equivalent. Commitment to start an Accounting qualification such as Brevet Fédéral, or ACCA.
  • Strong interest to develop in accounting.
  • Familiar with accounting systems would be a plus (SAP).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with technology and data as an advanced user (Blackline, Power BI, Alteryx etc. a plus).
  • Strong interest to develop skills in process management, data literacy and data management.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
