We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that’s energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently – we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it and mend it.
About your team:
At Centrica Energy, our mission is to move it.
We’re energy movers by nature. We’re a global renewable energy trading company which helps move energy from source to use – powering businesses, homes, and societies as they transition to a new sustainable energy future. If the idea of working to create a sustainable energy future also moves you, we may very well be the right place for you.
Are you looking to join dynamic payroll team in an international company and be a trusted colleague and make a significant impact? We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Lead to manage our payroll processes and ensure accuracy and compliance.
About the role
As a Payroll Lead, you will be responsible for managing the payroll process for approximately 500 employees in Denmark and providing monthly inputs to our 3rd party payroll provider for four foreign entities. You will be responsible for the payroll team consisting of yourself and one colleague to ensure that all payroll activities are completed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a 3rd party payroll bureau covering multiple locations.
Collect and register payroll data, resolving errors within payroll calendar timelines.
Check and approve all payroll processes managed by Visma and CloudPay, including payslips, gross to net calculations, reporting to tax authorities, and general ledger entries.
Liaise with public authorities (fiscal and municipal) and handle applications for sick and maternity pay refunds.
Report and transfer wages, keep abreast of new legislation, and update employee information in pension companies.
Book and reconcile wages in Business Central and handle employee payroll queries.
In this role you can develop both professionally and personally. We offer a supportive and collaborative work environment, opportunities for growth, and the chance to make a real impact on our operations. We offer a hybrid work environment, and you will be expected to be in the office 3 days per week. The team is currently based in Aalborg, Denmark, but this role can be based out of any of our locations across Europe.
About you
The ideal candidate for this role has strong communication skills and a structured, well-organized, and detail-oriented approach to daily tasks. As you are in a trusted position it is important that you are comfortable with a high degree of confidentiality and are able to interact effectively at all levels of the company regarding complex salary queries.
Furthermore, we expect that you have:
Experience in payroll accountancy and managing a 3rd party payroll bureau provider
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, especially during busy periods
Ability to improve processes and automate where possible, reducing reliance on manual systems and spreadsheets
Strong numerical skills and a good head for figures
Excellent English skills both written and spoken
If you have knowledge of Workday, Visma, and CloudPay it would be an advantage, but you will get a thorough onboarding introducing you to our IT systems and processes. A good understanding of general accountancy will also be an advantage.
