Blue Origin, LLC. is a privately owned aerospace company developing technologies that will establish an enduring human presence in space.  As part of our Facilities team, we are seeking a highly motivated Facilities Crane Technician II to contribute to our mission. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will share responsibilities for maintaining facilities, cranes, VFD's, motor controls and other critical equipment. This team is chartered with planning and performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and unplanned servicing of facility systems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration requiring your dedication, commitment, and detailed attention towards Blue Origins safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a preventive maintenance program for our properties.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs of facilities and equipment in-house or serve as the focal point for contracted efforts, as necessary. 
  • Act as the general contractor on facilities projects, performing functions such as soliciting and evaluating bids, reviewing work efforts, and managing to schedule.  
  • Organize shop and facility supplies for easy accessibility and maintain equipment in working condition, coordinating with shop personnel and others as needed.
  • Assist with the definition and expansion of Blue Origin facilities as necessary.
  • Provide general technical and mechanical support on an as needed basis on various building systems.
  • Source, order, and confirm receipt of project materials for assigned projects.  

Qualifications:

  • This position requires at least 5 years of relevant practical experience in industrial facilities, industrial project management and or construction management. 
  • Applicants should have knowledge of industrial facility infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with Crane systems such as Gantry, Jib, and Bridge systems, including 2,000 hours of relevant crane work.  
  • Understanding of governing codes and standards such as OSHA, ANSI, and WAC, as well as familiarity with motor controls and general mechanical knowledge.
  • Ability to read wiring schematics.
  • This position requires technical and manufacturing skills, but also a creative and flexible attitude.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, project and power point programs. Experience with Maximo a plus.

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $27.72-$38.81

Other site ranges may differ
