What You’ll do
In this role, you will be part of an agile development team building enterprise grade capability domains, systems, and data services. You’ll be responsible for the strategic design, development, testing, implementation and incremental change of the bank’s online banking system, credit rules capability as well as to other internal capabilities & systems.
You will work across disciplines to achieve organizational alignment & commitment for all product, domain, program, and system plans; as well as evaluate and select technologies required to complete those plans. In addition, the Sr Enterprise Architect will provide key technical leadership across the organization supporting the Bank’s primary experience entry point, from strategic decision making down to the project planning level.

What you can expect:
- Work with senior management on developing Enterprise level Architectural goals and strategies aligned to Bank strategy.
- Collaborate within Architecture and across IT disciplines to identify, establish, and maintain principles, policies & technical standards. Collaboratively author, publish and socialize these principles, policies & standards as assigned by Architecture governance.
- Takes a lead role in promoting agreed best practice techniques and continuous improvement within IT
- Promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across the Bank.
- Develop and maintain in-depth business, capability and data domain knowledge (a common taxonomy).
- Ensure that proposed and existing domain & systems architectures are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Develop an understanding of the alignment between business and technology strategy and common roadmap for delivery.
- Understand how business needs fit into the existing systems topology and how they relate to existing business services.
- Evaluate and communicate with senior management how solution designs meet the business needs of domain, modernization, product, process, sales and operational stakeholders.
- Analyze journeys, use cases & user requirements to discover and design technical services with functional & non-functional specifications.
- Design and implement long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining corporate capabilities and software; integrate goals and plans with the unified enterprise roadmap.
- Ensures newly created API based domain services serve in a common integration point and participate in one common taxonomy while ensuring vertical & lateral transaction/data movements are properly captured, monitored, entitled, observable and logged.
- Develop, document, and communicate plans for investing in systems architecture, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities in processes.
- Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to the IT team and business users.
- Highly skilled at domain driven design, context boundary recognition, functions and microservice decomposition.
- Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility.
- Develop and apply strong design methodology in partnership with Product Owners and Development leadership to align technical implementations with requirements at an appropriate relation of effort to value.
- Leverage domain driven design to foster the creation and implementation of end-to-end integrated systems with reusable components and domain data liberation outcomes.
- Assist with budget proposals and operational expenditure statements in partnership with Solution Architects, Product Owners, business Operations and IT Operations.
- In partnership with Product Owners, Solution Architects and Development, Liaise with vendors for the procurement of new systems technologies and services.
- Conduct research and present decisions to Technology Strategy Panel on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
- Review new and existing systems design projects and procurement or outsourcing plans for compliance with enterprise goals, strategy, standards and architectural targets (replace, refactor, retire, etc.).
- Work across disciplines in program delivery teams to accurately forecast timing and efforts of work.
- Document the company’s existing systems architecture and technology portfolio; identify opportunities for improvements and/or alternatives and present these to Architecture governance and Product Owners.
- Partners with Solution Architects during the process of defining requirements by working closely in a liaison role with business end users and technical development/support teams.
- Authors context relevant examples of Computer Science patterns and fosters reuse of existing proven patterns
- Lead critical design and architectural discussions and decisions at a domain portfolio level.
- Escalate identified domain, service and technology delivery drift to Architecture governance. Document and estimate the risk of technical debt tracked in Architecture governance.
- Model business and systems processes based on findings through journeys, use case scenarios, workflow diagrams, and data flows.
- Partners with Product Owners to confer with end-users, clients, or management to define business requirements for complex systems and technology evolution, leading to engaged delegation to Solution Architects.
- Partner with Project Management to provide timely reports on the status of projects as well as any unforeseen issues to management and to business units.
- Works to promote an understanding of domain design, business process and business requirements with technical staff.
- Defines policies, standards, requirements and procedures for non-functional concerns ensuring the privacy, security and integrity of the Bank capabilities, systems and data.

What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering and/or 10 years equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 7 years experience in Finance, Banking, Treasury Operations or Capital Markets.
- Extensive experience with common application platforms, including Apache/Tomcat, IIS, WebSphere, SharePoint.
- Experience with Misys Summit, Oracle APEX or Microsoft Dynamics.
- IASA CITA certification preferred.
- MSCD or at least one Java certification preferred.
- Certifications in multiple technologies preferred.
- Extensive experience working with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban; certified Agile Coach is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience with emergent architecture concepts and proven CompSci patterns.
- Extensive experience implementing software designs while developing greater facility with advanced design concepts and patterns.
- Extensive experience in developing strategic architecture modernization plans.
- Extensive experience modeling system diagrams, functional processes and interfaces between systems.
- Extensive experience selecting & implementing COTS software solutions to support business process including integration with proprietary/legacy systems.
- Extensive experience with continuous delivery concepts and practices.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Mastery in data modeling, domain driven design and process data capture.
- High level of proficiency with one or more common development frameworks and languages, including .Net/C#, C/C++, Java/J2EE/Spring/JSF/Hibernate/EJB, Oracle APEX, Powershell.
- AWS Certified Solution Architect.
- Extensive knowledge of enterprise & software evaluation requirement tracking, principles and practices.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud computing principles, specifically related to Amazon Web Services
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening and questioning skills.
- Proven ability to build change consensus across disciplines and cohorts.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
