The IAO supports dozens of projects across the CBP for customers such as the Office of Trade (OT), U.S. Border Patrol, Office of Field Operations, and the Office of the Commissioner. The collective IAO team provides business processes transformation, advanced data analytics program management, strategy formulation, performance management, and other advisory services. 

Guidehouse supports the OT Operations Directorate to improve its business operations by collecting requirements and developing tools and processes.

Job Description:

Serve as the Project Lead for the OT Operations project team in its support of OT. Apply subject matter expertise and strategic insights, meet with clients and the team to collect and validate requirements, and lead the development of business management tools and data analysis to improve operations.

What you will do:

  • Lead in a project management environment – independently and with Sponsor team

  • Guide and mentor staff in the execution of deliverables

  • Facilitate meetings with functional leads and subject matter experts to identify, develop, document, and validate requirements

  • Develop core understanding of CBP trade mission and apply to acquisition documentation and strategic communications work products

  • Oversee development of talking points, executive briefings, and other communications artifacts necessary for updating leadership

  • Lead requirements gathering initiatives

  • Develop / update project plans, project analyses and reports, recommendations, implementation plans, among other project deliverables

What you will need:

  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10 years of work experience in a professional work environment

  • Strong executive presence and experience in briefing senior – level agency officials

  • Strong technical writing ability

  • Strong facilitation skills, in particular, in requirements gathering necessary for technical documentation

  • Project management tools (Kanban or similar tracking tools) experience

  • Project financial management experience

Nice to Have:

  • Active CBP BI/Public Trust

  • Office of Trade experience desired

  • DHS / DOD acquisition documentation experience

  • IT system implementation experience helpful
