The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
3M is seeking a Manufacturing Technologists for its Brockville, ON site. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic team environment, perform preventive, corrective, and diagnostic maintenance proficiently on a variety of innovative manufacturing machines, and will be challenged to apply knowledge and skills to achieve high personal and group performance working with a world-class team. Safe, high-quality diagnostics and repair are expected, and your creative and innovative improvement solutions are equally sought out. This role will appeal to millwrights, maintenance technicians, instrumentation technologists, or robotics technicians. New graduates are welcomed to apply.

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform preventative, corrective, and diagnostic maintenance
  • Read and interpret schematics and drawings
  • 12-hour rotating shift work

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Completion of Technologist or Technician diploma (completed and verified prior to start)

OR

  • 309A/433A/442A certification

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • 2-3 years of manufacturing experience in a technical support role
  • 1 year of electro mechanics, pneumatics, and hydraulics experience
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with little supervision in a team-oriented environment
  • Experienced in PLC controllers and process instrumentation and automation

Work location:

  • Brockville, ON Canada
  • 12-hour rotating shifts

 

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international

*Successful security clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration program is a mandatory pre-requirement. Please note the following are some (but not all) of the listed requirements for Controlled Goods Clearance:

  • Must be a Canadian citizen normally residing in Canada, or must be a Permanent Resident normally residing in Canada
  • Must have valid and current identification (i.e.: driver’s license, passport, birth certificate)
  • Must be able to provide a residential address and employment history of the past 5 years
  • If applicable, living outside of Canada during the past five years will require an international criminal name check

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
