Neogen is looking to hire an Accounting Manager. This position will oversee Neogen’s Domestic process for Capital and Intangible Assets within SAP S4 HANA and Legacy ERP, including supervision of one Fixed Asset Accountant. Also responsible for Neogen’s R&D accounting process. This position will act as a business partner in all regards to deliver insightful feedback regarding capital and R&D spend. Will be a valued contributor that helps position Management to understand Return on Investment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Capital Assets

  • Continue development surrounding Neogen’s fixed asset process in SAP S4 HANA, including creating capital projects, performing monthly settlement of costs, and conducting depreciation simulations.
  • Review account coding for capital requisitions.
  • Oversee input into Neogen's legacy fixed assets database, Thomson Reuters CS.
  • Review the calculation for Neogen’s intangible assets and retain supporting documents.
  • Review journal entries as required to reconcile capital accounts and record expense.
  • Review monthly roll forward of fixed and intangible assets.
  • Design and implement internal controls and conduct review procedures on a regular basis.
  • Review a budget for each fiscal year for amortization and depreciation expense.
  • Review a capital budget for each fiscal year.
  • Complete quarterly (10Q) and year-end (10K) workpapers & disclosures, as required.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits.
  • Organize annual physical inventory for all material US locations.

Research and Development

  • Continue development surrounding Neogen’s Research and Development accounting process in SAP S4/HANA.
  • Tracking actual spend versus a budget and completing variance analysis, as required.
  • Develop R&D monthly close process, including allocation and settlement of costs between R&D projects and cost centers, as required.
  • Compile necessary documents for Neogen’s Federal Research and Development study including a project list, spend by project, spend by vendor, and retention of technical documents when required.
  • Complete budgets and forecasts as necessary for R&D.
  • Complete hourly rate calculations as necessary for cross-charging.
  • Maintain intercompany process for any charging of R&D, including monthly accruals, account reconciliation, and invoicing.
  • Work with R&D function to obtain a list of projects, time tracking, and provide visibility into year-to-date costs; maintain WBS structure within SAP S4/HANA.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as required.
  • Design and implement internal controls and conduct review procedures on a regular basis.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • 6 or more years of related work experience.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred
  • SAP S4 HANA Experience is strongly preferred
  • Thomson Reuters Fixed Assets CS is a plus
