As an HR Manager - Benefits, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing employee benefits programs within our organization. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our benefits offerings are competitive, compliant with regulations, and aligned with the needs of our workforce. This position requires a deep understanding of employee benefits, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to optimize our benefits strategy. This includes, but is not limited to, Medical, Dental, Vision, LOA, Supplemental Insurances, workers compensation, leave of absences, and accommodations.
The HR Manager - Benefits will:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive benefits strategy that aligns with the organization's goals, values, and budget constraints. Continuously assess and adjust the strategy to ensure they remain competitive and meet the evolving needs of employees and market trends.
- Collaborate with internal teams, direct reports, external vendors, and consultants to design and implement various employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, perks, LOA, & workers compensation in order to ensure compliance
- Oversee the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollment, claims processing, and communication.
- Stay informed about federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting employee benefits, such as ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and FMLA. Ensure that benefit programs comply with all legal requirements and proactively address any risks, compliance issues, or reporting requirements.
- Manage relationships with benefit plan providers, brokers, third-party administrators, and other vendors. Negotiate contracts, evaluate performance, and monitor service levels to ensure the delivery of high-quality benefits services.
- Develop and implement communication strategies to educate employees about available benefits options, enrollment procedures, and changes to benefit plans. Provide resources, tools, and workshops to help employees make informed decisions about their benefits.
- Analyze data related to employee demographics, utilization patterns, and costs to evaluate the effectiveness of benefit programs. Generate regular reports and insights to inform decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Partner proactively with payroll, finance, and other departments as needed.
The ideal candidate has:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Psychology, or related field.
- Proven experience (3-5 years) in benefits management, preferably in a mid-size organization
- Proven experience (1-2 years) as a people leader
- Thorough understanding of employee benefits principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends to make informed decisions, while demonstrating an attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration software.
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets preferred.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with integrity.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively while demonstrating time management & organizational skills
