Business Engagement Lead

Description -

The Business Engagement Lead serves as a bridge between the development teams and the business stakeholders. The role handles understanding business needs, translating them into technical requirements, and ensuring that products/solutions meet these requirements while aligning with the organization's strategic goals. This role handles ensuring firsthand program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases of a solution, or product. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and technical ability to navigate challenges, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive innovation. The role handles defining the overall approach and architecture, driving overall quality plan, and ensuring the on-time delivery and escalation, as necessary. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Stakeholder Management: Function as the primary point of contact between the development team and business stakeholders. Develop and keep strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure their requirements are met. Partners with cross-functional teams to help them prioritize, plan, track and execute cross organizational programs. Ensures that all stakeholders are aligned towards a common goal by meeting and receiving feedback on an ongoing basis. 

  • Requirement Gathering and Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document requirements. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories for the development team. 

  • Project Planning and Management: Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with technical teams and business stakeholders. Monitor project progress, find potential risks or issues, and take initiative-taking measures to address them. Communicates project status, progress, and challenges through regular reporting and presentations to leadership. 

  • Solution Design: Work closely with architects and developers to design solutions that meet business requirements while adhering to technical best practices, scalability, and security standards. 

  • Change Management: Ease change management processes by communicating updates and changes in solutions, or products to relevant stakeholders. Supply training and support to ensure smooth adoption of innovative technologies or processes. 

  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with teams to define test cases, conduct testing, and ensure that solutions or products meet quality standards and functional requirements. 

  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Watch the performance of solutions or products in production environments. Find areas for optimization and improvement based on user feedback, system metrics, and industry best practices. Manages risks and resolves issues that affect release, scope, schedule, and quality of highly visible, complex programs. 

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to software development and business engagement. Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 

 

Qualifications: 

Education & Experience Recommended 
Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or any other related discipline or equal work experience or proved competence. 
Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in program/project management, scrum master, professional technology organization, or a related field. 
 

Knowledge & Skills  

Familiarity with software development tools and technologies, such as JIRA, Confluence, Git, and CI/CD pipelines. 

Certification or proved ability in business analysis and project management (such as Agile, Scrum, Spring Planning, Lean Manufacturing, Project Management, Process Improvement, etc.) 

Experience on Change management 

Cross-Org Skills 
Effective communication and people skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 

Solid analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen attention to details. 

Leadership abilities, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive projects to successful completion. 

Customer Centricity 
 

Familiarity with any of the following skills will be ideal.
