CMC are hiring! We have a 12 month parental leave cover for a Head of Product Marketing to join our Marketing department, based in our Barangaroo, Sydney office. This fixed-term contract will commence early to mid November 2024.

Please note that we operate onsite working and would require you to come into our Barangaroo office 5 days per week.

Background to & purpose of role:

We are looking for a Product Marketing enthusiast with a strong passion and/or experience in online CFD and share trading. Working closely with the marketing team, our Product Squads and the wider business, this role will be integral in driving the strategic marketing direction for CMC’s CFD and Share Trading products and bringing it to life.

This exciting role will give the right candidate the opportunity to redefine the positioning of the CMC’s platforms, be accountable for articulating the value that CMC Markets offers to investors/traders across Australia and support Product squads in delivering a best-in-class offering with customer-led insights.

Role & responsibilities:

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing and clearly articulating the Invest product marketing strategy, positioning, value prop, messaging, go-to-market strategy and the rollout of existing and new products and features.
  • Work closely with the broader Marketing team as well as Sales and Customer Services to build out their product knowledge and provide them with the insights, positioning, messaging, and content they need to succeed.
  • Assessing the market, competitors, industry trends and customer needs. You should know your market, competition and customers inside out and be able to integrate this information into your product marketing plans.
  • Refining and maintaining customer propositions based on feedback and changing buyer personas/ customer needs.
  • Supporting the Product team with a prioritisation process and framework to ensure customer-centricity is at the heart of all product and feature builds.
  • Developing a Voice of Customer (VoC) framework to provide customer feedback in a constructive manner to support product development and enhancements.
  • Driving the adoption, use and advocacy of the CMC Share Trading & CFD platform, alongside brand, digital and lifecycle teams, to achieve annual commercial targets.
  • Developing and delivering new product propositions for key customer segments, across different markets. These propositions will be based on your market research, plus all qualitative and quantitative inputs and insights.
  • Collaborating with the product team and squads to regularly evaluate our proposition in market, offering suggestions for improvement or future growth.
  • Working closely with the Head of Growth Marketing and Senior Marketing Manager to ensure appropriate educational content is developed to help drive effective upsell, cross sell and ultimately product stickiness.
  • Providing ongoing reporting on product marketing / GTM programs to drive continual improvements and recommendations.

General

  • Provide ad hoc support, back up and assistance to other team members within the marketing division as necessary.
  • Maintain personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders in the APAC & CA region and Head Office.
  • Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.
  • Read and comply with CMC policies and procedures as they relate to your employment.
  • Complete all mandatory compliance training.

Key skills & experience:

  • Strong, demonstrable product marketing experience (ideally 8+ years), which will span several products and features from ideation to launch and maturity.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years people management experience
  • Curiosity and customer-centric mindset
  • You’ll be comfortable working with, analysing and using data to make appropriate marketing decisions
  • A good natural communicator/project management experience essential. You’ll be able to distil complex topics to core messages
  • Commercial skills to understand the role a product feature plays within company strategy and the commercial return on investment.
  • Knowledge of or passion for the financial markets and online share trading is essential.
  • Understanding of end-to-end campaign management, experienced in working with brand marketing teams, agencies and digital teams to drive effective GTM programs
  • Relevant university degree in business, marketing or media/communications.
  • This solid experience will be underpinned by a high attention to detail and aesthetics, and great interpersonal skills, which will help you when working with a variety of key global stakeholders.
  • You’ll need to be someone who thrives in a fast paced and dynamic environment and has a flexible approach to working out alternatives to respond to change. Use creative thinking to help meet campaign objectives.
