Summary of the Position:

We are seeking an Analyst/Associate to join the Washington, D.C., team. This individual will be responsible for working on acquisitions, development & asset management in DC and other target growth markets covered by DC leadership. They will collaborate with teams across our core functions, including:  portfolio management, asset management, development, capital markets, asset management, corporate strategy, innovation, design and construction, and leasing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite acquisition and development investment opportunities using Excel and Argus software to develop pro forma cash flows and sensitivity analyses
  • Assist with due diligence process associated with acquisitions and developments including market research and feasibility analysis, cost analyses, entitlement processes, financial underwriting and financing
  • Provide analytical support to assist with the asset management function of existing properties, including quarterly valuations, cash projections, hold/sell analyses, and other ad hoc sensitivity analyses
  • Work with leasing team to analyze and negotiate new leasing deals
  • Complete market research – through third-party data providers and communication with local brokers – to compile relevant lease comparable, sale comparable, competitive sets, development pipelines, and general market data
  • Prepare presentation materials and proposals with responsibility for written and graphic requirements

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in an analytically rigorous Real Estate or Finance environment
  • Evident passion for real estate and desire to build a career on the principal side
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, ARGUS Enterprise, and financial modeling
  • The ability to work effectively with both peers and senior executives in a highly entrepreneurial, team-oriented environment
  • Unwavering attention to detail

The base compensation range for this role is $90,000 to $125,000. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, as well as access to our comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) plan (with matching contributions), wellness benefits and all other benefits afforded to full-time Tishman Speyer employees.  

This base range reflects a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skill sets, and/or licensure required of an individual in this particular role. The base range is also specific to members of Tishman Speyer’s DC team, as we’ve considered factors specific to this geography.
