The Role: Senior Specialist, Financial Analysis

The Senior Specialist will be an important part of the Finance team, helping to drive forward revenue growth and strategy with asset-based fees. The individual will focus on accounting, operational support, analysis, and automation efforts.  The specialist will play a key role with the monthly financial close and estimate process by aggregating required actual data, preparing, and distributing reports, updating business forecasts, and identifying areas for improvement to operational efficiency.  The Senior Specialist role will be joining and interacting with a global finance team.

Responsibilities:

Monthly and Quarterly Financial Close

  • Process and prepare data to create and post monthly journal entries

  • Update and distribute monthly results and reports to teams across the division

  • Draft and provide supporting materials for the Indices Quarterly Financial Review and Quarterly Business Review

  • Update monthly commentary files with actuals

  • Update dashboards that are shared with Commercial and Product teams

Accounting & Operational Support

  • Assist in processing invoices

  • Assist with billing and contract inquiries from SPDJI, particularly as they relate to Global Strategic accounts and the Insurance team

  • Perform quality assurance testing on automation and database projects

  • Perform historical revenue analyses

  • Assist with preparation of ad-hoc revenue reports

  • Identify areas for automation to help improve efficiency for the team, and help drive forward these automation processes

Estimate Process

  • Update Excel model with actuals for individual revenue channels

  • Key estimate updates into Anaplan for the revenue team

  • Identify opportunities for improvement in the process and work with team members to implement changes

What we’re looking for:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Accounting or Finance degree required

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting

  • Very well organized and detail oriented

  • Strong written and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Knowledge of Oracle or other similar financial system preferred

  • High proficiency with Excel required

  • Proficiency or knowledge in PowerPoint, SmartView, Tableau, Anaplan, Alteryx, or Salesforce a plus

  • Must be flexible in work schedule.
