Position Summary:

Under minimal supervision, responsible for working across the P&C Claims organization to help identify and support key strategic claims initiatives.  Projects will require working with colleagues, field and desk leaders as well as outside vendors in the development, planning and tracking of programs and projects to understand cost and benefit to the organization of workflows and improvements. This will require an understanding of the business to identify and evaluate opportunities consistent with the goals and strategic initiatives of the Claims organization.     

Position Responsibilities:

  • Developing understanding of the P&C Claims business in order to support key claim projects with metrics
  • Support and report on the execution of the claims process improvement program, including the coordination and participation in Best Practice creation, monthly metric analysis, ad-hoc reviews, and other audits / diagnostics as needed.
  • Coordinate pilot initiatives and vendor relationships to understand and create Cost/Benefit Analysis of innovation options
  • Participate in and co-lead periodic reviews and updates to Best Practices, Guidelines, Playbooks, Scripts and supporting workflows through diagnostics and collaboration with the field teams.
  • Consistent and competent support of vision casting for the claims organization and leadership on strategic goals and business initiatives.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and trust-based relationships within the organization while elevating issues and concerns appropriately.
  • Understands challenges/trends in their market and works with internal business partners to address trends on a regular basis
  • Develop and interpret business data from multiple vendor platforms and assist in building dashboards to assess performance.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent of 3 working years in Claims, specific to Material Damage
  • Knowledge of specific programs such as CCC One, but not limited to: I-CAR, Car-Part Pro, PartsTrader, and Guidewire.
  • Strong business acumen, collaboration skills, influencing skills and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to successfully work across all levels of the organization, including interacting with peers          
  • Must be able to manage competing priorities
  • Emerging understanding of data analytics
  • Ability to synthesize large quantities of data
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven organization and analytical skills.
  • Strong Microsoft skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windows is required.
  • Experience effectively managing multiple tasks and changing priorities in a complex business environment.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal & organizational skills. Goal oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Intermediate ability to observe and make observations on market implications of business strategies
  • Creative problem-solver with strong quantitative skills that can spot patterns, trends, and opportunities in data
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • This is a remote role that can be working from a US-based home with occasional reporting into a local Kemper office.


The range for this position is $53,600 to $93,700. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors.  This job is also eligible for our Kemper benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
