The Hypersonics Systems Division of Leidos, is seeking a talented Manager, Supplier Program Management to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective manufacturing, engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

List daily duties and/or specific job responsibilities.

The Manager, Supplier Program Management will lead the team of Supplier Program Managers (SPM).  General responsibilities will include performance reviews, employee development and training, organizing, planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating work assignments of the SPM team to meet project milestones or established completion dates.  The SPM team is part of the Hypersonics Systems Division Program Office team, interfacing with program / project management, program finance, production planning, engineering and change management to support smooth production flow of supplier parts from release of new drawings through delivery of hypersonic glide body units.  This position will also interact with suppliers on a regular basis to ensure program objectives are clearly understood and achieved.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Provide guidance to SPM team regarding supplier activities in support of the Hypersonics Systems Division product line
  • Set expectations for the SPM team and work with the team to establish clear and measurable goals
  • Identify supplier capability or process gaps and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Maintain departmental metrics
  • Direct SPM’s management of supplier delivery schedules
  • Provide support to Program Manager (PM) / Control Account Managers (CAMs) in establishing labor/staffing plans
  • Provide support in identifying changes between current vs projected staffing levels
  • Ensure clear, concise communications both internally and with suppliers
  • Provide support to Cost/Finance / Earned Value Management (EVM) in establishing and managing Cost, Schedule and Technical (Scope) baselines and performance for suppliers
  • Provide support to Contracts in adhering to contractual requirements
  • Provide support and participate on the Risk Board as needed
  • Provide support and recommendations to PM in decision making for the program related to supplier performance
  • Provide support to EVM and CAMs in establishing/maintaining CAM battle rhythm/activities
  • Provide support to Program Compliance and Contracts to ensure prompt delivery of required CDRLs per contract requirements
  • Develop Supplier Management Plans for new proposals
  • Work with the SPM team to create BOE’s for new proposals and ECPs
  • Manage SPM team’s efforts obtaining quotes for new proposals and ECPs
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree Engineering or Business or equivalent from an accredited university with previous contracts, subcontracts or project management experience is required (8 year’s relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree or 6 + years relevant experience with a Master’s degree, 4 + years supervising or leading teams or projects).

The following skills/abilities are desired:

  • Experience supporting a multi-year development/production program valuing more than $100M.
  • Experience working complex Flight Programs (Aircraft Modification, Missile, Space Launch or Rocket launch systems)
  • Cost estimating and Budget management
  • Leading a large and diverse team managing suppliers and subcontractors
  • Disciplined metric-driven management
  • Proven experience managing to and meeting tight schedules
  • Effective communication of information between various functional disciplines as well as strong briefing skill to Sr. leadership.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Strong understanding of contracts, manufacturing, procurement, production, and integration
  • Experience successfully leading in an IPT organizational structure focused on engineering design, manufacturing and/or supply chain activities desirable
  • Experience in strategic and tactical planning is desirable
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Proven history of working in a team environment, fostering communication, listening to teammate concerns and reconciling internal issues or differences
  • Proven ability to solicit and process complex information and data to solve complex problems and make sound decisions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with measured and articulate communication skills
  • Analytical and strong organizational skills, with excellent verbal and written ability

Pay Range:

Pay Range $98,150.00 - $177,425.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
