Overview

We are hiring a sharp Tableau Developer to support an exciting growth phase for sales.  This position will play an important role to maintaining and evolving reporting and analysis for the commercial sales organization. 

You will impact this area making data ingestible to optimize sales efforts and improve ROI through maintaining impactful reports and setting sites on how we can improve and add new reporting capabilities to the business.

*We prefer this role to be hybrid onsite in Hartford, CT

Position Summary

The Senior Tableau BI Developer is responsible for designing and delivering data analysis and visualizations, data management, requirements gathering, dashboard development, testing and quality assurance, technical documentation and required maintenance. 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing data to understand trends, patterns, and insights.

  • Creating interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports to represent data effectively.

  • Using Tableau's features to combine multiple data sources and create complex visualizations.

  • Connecting to various data sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and cloud services.

  • Preparing and cleaning data to ensure accuracy and consistency for visualization.

  • Managing data extract refreshes and optimizing performance.

  • Working closely with stakeholders, such as business analysts and managers, to gather requirements and understand business needs.

  • Translating business requirements into technical specifications for Tableau reports and dashboards.

  • Providing support and training to end-users to ensure effective use of Tableau visualizations.

  • Reviewing and optimizing SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.

  • Developing calculated fields, parameters, and sets in Tableau.

  • Implementing security measures and user access controls within Tableau.

  • Conducting thorough testing of Tableau dashboards and reports to ensure accuracy and functionality.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to data discrepancies or visualization errors.

  • Documenting processes, methodologies, and standards for Tableau development.

  • Maintaining and updating dashboards and reports as new data becomes available or business requirements change.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Tableau Desktop and Server including maintenance of existing suite of reports and development of new reports.

  • 3+ years reviewing and modifying SQL

  • 3+ years consulting with business partners to create impactful reporting capabilities.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of experience working in sales analytics and with complex data structures and large datasets in a real business setting.

  • Additional experience delivering data analytics presentations to clients and business leaders.

  • Experience with SQL, Power BI, Excel and PPT.

  • Tableau Certification.

  • Experience with Salesforce.


Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$82,940.00 - $182,549.40


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
