Job Title: Senior Manager, HRIS
Reports to: Chief People Officer

Position Overview:
The Senior Manager, HRIS will oversee the operations, security, and continuous improvement of NPR's HR systems. This role will lead the development and implementation of efficient HRIS solutions and collaborate with the People Team, IT, Finance, and external vendors to ensure HR technology aligns with NPR’s strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in SQL, UKGPro, UKG Dimensions, and IBM Cognos Analytics to optimize system performance and deliver actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise on HR systems, offering guidance and recommendations for system improvements.
  • Lead the implementation of HRIS solutions across key areas such as compensation, benefits, payroll, time & attendance, recruiting, performance management, learning, and document management.
  • Collaborate with the People Team, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure HR systems align with NPR’s human capital technology needs.
  • Establish service level agreements for the successful delivery of HRIS services, ensuring system reliability and user satisfaction.
  • Oversee the configuration, development, and maintenance of HRIS platforms, ensuring system accuracy, compliance, and data integrity.
  • Lead reviews and implementations of new HR technologies, including system upgrades and vendor selection.
  • Conduct ongoing audits of HRIS data for compliance and ensure security protocols safeguard data confidentiality.
  • Manage HRIS support functions, including system configuration, maintenance, and resolving any data issues.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive HRIS reports and dashboards, leveraging data to provide insights into key HR metrics.
  • Champion automation and self-service models to improve HRIS functionality and increase organizational productivity.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of HRIS professionals, guiding their performance and development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with UKGPro and UKG Dimensions.
  • Proficiency in IBM Cognos Analytics and advanced SQL expertise.
  • Strong experience with HR tools such as HRIS, LMS, ATS.
  • Proven track record in selecting, implementing, and optimizing HR systems.
  • Excellent consultative, organizational, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Advanced skills in Google Sheets/Drive and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience with HR systems.
  • Familiarity with Greenhouse ATS and Lattice Performance Management.
  • Experience in a unionized environment.
  • Passion for NPR's mission and commitment to its values.

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

WORK LOCATION

  • Remote Permitted: This is a remote permitted role. This role is based out of our Washington, DC office but the employee may choose to work on a remote basis from a location that NPR approves.

JOB TYPE

  • This is a full time, exempt position.

COMPENSATION

Salary Range: The U.S. based anticipated salary range for this opportunity is $134,000 - $155,000 plus benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salaries NPR expects to provide for new hires for the position across all US locations.

Benefits: NPR offers access to comprehensive benefits for employees and dependents. Regular, full-time employees scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week are eligible to enroll in NPR’s benefits options.
