If so, we have a great opportunity for you to join the Peoria Proving Ground (PPG) team within the Earthmoving Division (EMD) as the Facilities Engineering Manager.

This is a critical role at our facility, managing the maintenance of the facility, while also leading facility specific strategies and critical projects. As the Facilities Engineering Manager for our PPG facility, you will have an exciting opportunity to make a difference for our people – employees, leaders, and the communities within which we operate.

This role as the PPG Facilities Engineering Manager is a great opportunity also for you to develop deeper knowledge and leadership skills while working in a collaborative and supportive environment. This role will report directly to the Facility Manager and engage at all levels within the business, providing great visibility and making an impact on the operations and safety of the people and business.

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborates with EHS, engineering, and operations, as well as internal and external partners, suppliers, and contractors to meet business goals.
  • Owns the development and execution of the multi-year facility strategy.
  • Manages extended facility and maintenance team to ensure effective and timely action is taken to resolve issues, implement improvement projects, and manage within budget. Scope includes, but is not limited to:
    • Facility structures, infrastructure, and equipment
    • Maintenance equipment
    • Site vehicles
    • Capital programs
    • Storage & Disposition
  • Oversees inspections, repairs and updates of facilities and relevant operational activities; maintains order at the facility.
  • Leads projects related to improving facility process/procedures.
  • Develops comprehensive programs to be utilized at the facility.

What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

  • Degree/Experience: 4-year engineering degree OR deep expertise in facility engineering
  • Plant Facilities Management:
    • Proven experience in managing plant facilities, including the ability to oversee maintenance and improvements.
    • Proficient in the processes, tools, and techniques for managing facility maintenance and improvements, with a strong ability to apply knowledge of budget and program management to diverse situations.
  • Facility Experience:
    • Knowledge of policies and the ability to implement them to ensure that activities at PPG are safe for people and the environment, as well as in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
    • Experience in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
    • Knowledge of environmental regulations and their application in facility management.
  • Supplier and Contractor Management:
    • Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components as well as supporting contractors; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
  • Problem Solving:
    • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations.
    • Strong analytical skills to assess problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong Collaborative Skills:
    • Experience working with EHS, engineering, operations, and external partners to achieve business goals, showcasing excellent teamwork and communication abilities.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Facility Standards, Procedures, and Policies:
    • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing standards and the ability to implement procedures and policies to ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry standards.
    • Strong understanding of OSHA requirements and the ability to apply them to maintain safe and compliant operations.
  • Proven Leadership in Facility Management:
    • Demonstrated ability to lead facility-specific strategies and critical projects, ensuring the maintenance and improvement of facility structures, infrastructure, and equipment.
  • Equipment:
    • Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in facility engineering; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them.
  • Innovative Problem Solving:
    • Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations and continuous improvement of facility processes.
