The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing cost expenditures and purchases within the organization. The Cost Accountant will review existing purchases, record data, recommend new cost-efficient and financially feasible cost options.

General Responsibilities • Organizes the preparation and analysis of costs, compiles data, prepares and emits statistical reports for the comparison of costs and determination of profitability by product and client • Reviews standard and actual costs for inaccuracies • Performs month end close activities related to Cost Accounting • Maintains one or a combination of cost accounting systems • Records cost information for use in controlling expenditures • Prepares journal entries; maintains and reconciles ledger accounts • Collect and compile purchasing data for analysis • Prepare and complete internal cost audits • Review and document inventory and material purchases • Helps prepare financial statements and variance reports as requested. May do analysis and prepare other special reports Experience / Qualifications • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience. • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
