The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) 777X Composites Fabrication Manufacturing Engineering team is seeking highly motivated experienced Manufacturing Engineers for our Berkeley, MO facility. This position provides the unique opportunity to be a technical leader on the 777X as we ramp to full rate production! You will work in a fast-paced and professional environment with multi-disciplined Engineering Teams that take pride in developing, integrating, testing and delivering innovative solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing engineering, 3D model-based instructions, CATIA, Teamcenter/IPDM/VisMockup, and Manufacturing Execution System Common Image (MESci); and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops and implements production and tooling methodologies.
Participates and leads Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build.
Leads implementation of manufacturing plans.
Resolves technical problems and assists in the implementation of new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.
Leads and assists in the implementation of Lean principles and technologies.
Interfaces with professional associations, suppliers, IPTs and internal customers to develop products, skills, knowledge and experience.
Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions.
Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.
An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
5+ years of related engineering experience
Experience in Lean Process implementation
Prior engineering experience in a manufacturing or production role
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
B.S. or higher in Aerospace, Civil or Mechanical Engineering
Experience supporting defense and/or aerospace customers.
Experience with 3D model based instruction.
Experience with any of the following: CATIA, Teamcenter/IPDM/VisMockup, IBI Cognos
Experience with Manufacturing Execution System Common Image (MESci)
Typical Education & Experience:
Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
