THE TEAM
The mission of the Creative Design Department is to design world-class collections.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Aritzia is accelerating its expansion into menswear, building on the acquisition of Reigning Champ, and entering a pivotal moment to define a high growth category. This is a unique opportunity to shape the creative direction of a menswear business with the resources to scale and ambition to win on the world stage – bringing what Aritzia does best to the menswear market while creating something distinctly new.
As Head of Design, Menswear, you will set and lead the creative vision for Aritzia’s menswear offering, driving the taste, rigor, and product excellence Aritzia is known for into the men’s space. You will own the end‑to‑end creative product direction — from research and concept development through style design and product execution — and partner with the Product Leadership team to ensure each collection delivers on our brand’s point of view with exceptional quality and commercial impact.
THE ROLE
As the Head of Design, you will lead the team to:
Establish the seasonal point of view of the for each collection
Curate the seasonal cohesive concept for the collection
Design the core components of the styles for the collection
Validate that each style executes on the creative design vision
Ensure there is cohesion across the entire collection
Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to seamlessly lead the day-to-day function of the department in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience
THE QUALIFICATIONS
The Head of Design, has:
Proven and best-in-class skills, applicable certifications, education and/or experience in product collection design and the appetite to continuously learn and develop oneself
The ability to translate business strategies and leadership priorities into tangible outcomes
The ability to set clear design a strategy with clear objectives that inspires the team
The skills to collaborate with cross-functional partners in the pursuit of shared business objectives
A commitment to learn, apply, champion and enrich our Values and Business and People Leadership principles
A dedication to quality and investing in results and new business opportunities that add value
A deep understanding and commitment for the industry in which we operate
A key representation of our brand, aesthetic and style fundamentals while setting trends and influencing culture
THE COMPENSATION
The typical hiring range for this position is $150,000–$250,000 per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Additionally, this position may be eligible for bonus.
