Who you’ll work with 

We are looking to fill one internship position in our Global Trading team within Total Fund Management. Global trading provides execution capabilities to all asset groups and regions, with a focus on minimizing costs while continually improving the execution process. The team is comprised of subject matter experts on market liquidity in various asset classes, who help the portfolio management teams bring trades and realize market ideas in the most efficient way possible. 

What you'll do

As an intern in Total Fund Management, you will be encouraged to make the most of your experience at OTPP by asking questions and getting involved in our daily business right from Day 1. Total Fund Management encourages the development of their interns and offers a unique experience with direct exposure to markets in an institutional capacity.  

During the internship, you will work with a team of traders across various asset classes. The successful candidate will gain a wide array of experience across equities, commodities, fixed income, and FX in global markets.  

Every day is different on the trading floor and requires a team to collaborate and solve problems in real-time. As a member of the team, you will be required to help tackle ad-hoc problems. You may contribute by building tools that help traders negotiate transactions, research and present findings on different market microstructures or automating trading processes. 

What you'll need

  • You are in your 3rd or 4th year of undergraduate studies or any year of graduate studies 
  • You are strong at multi-tasking, can work well within a team setting, and have good time management skills. 
  • You are naturally inquisitive with a desire to learn, ask questions, and solve complex problems. 
  • You exhibit passion and curiosity for financial markets. 
  • Your area of study is less important than your drive, and we urge you to apply if you have shown academic excellence and share our interest in financial markets. 
  • Your dream is to work in a stimulating environment and to collaborate with your peers and managers. 
  • You are a developing leader, with excellent analytical and social skills.
