Role requires interaction, collaboration and coordination with cross-Line of Business / cross-functional / cross-geographical senior level management. It represents CUO Corporate and supports both Chief Underwriting Offices and / Risk Consulting / Claims within all internal and external governance and compliance related tasks and topics. It ensures and supports internal/external reporting, monitoring and attestation with regards to specific cross-Line of Business / cross-functional, cross-geographical inter-group and regulatory requirements. It assures good corporate governance, monitoring and support of product development and related activities.

Lead, drive and manage internal and external UW governance related group, committee and referral management, management of regular updates, reporting and attestation.

Support translation of compliance related topics into practice (e.g. sanctions).

Lead, drive and coordinate management of UW Authorities across all UW functions and geographies

Perform, coordinate and monitor the internal and external Quality Underwriting Audits, including adherence to the Delegated Underwriting Authority and Guidelines.  

Monitor Business Reviews to ensure cadence and standards are met. 

Support and participate as CUO representative within external and internal compliance, audit and regulatory activities

Support and participate as CUO representative within Risk Management and other related activities

Manage and coordinate CUO product development process and ensure adherence to controls

Knowledge & Skill: 

  • Knowledge about  Arch Group’s entities
  • Strong insurance industry background
  • Experience in cross-divisional and cross-departmental interactions (preferably additional experience beyond Underwriting e.g Regulatory or Legal background.
  • Self-motivated, result-oriented and independent executive and strategic thinker with good organizational skills and willingness to travel
  • Strong presentation & communication skills
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Rational and logical negotiation skills combined with tact and diplomacy
  • Capability to manage and drive innovation and change
  • Bachelors degree

For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$97,100 - $131,130/year

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.  The above range may be modified in the future
