Main Purpose
Responsible for the design and development of Power collection / CPT Products like Pantograph, Third Rail current Collector and Charging solutions.
Lead the full product lifecycle for Engineering change board, prepare 3D models and drawings using Solidworks.
Responsibilities
Analyze the Project Need, develop technical specifications, and propose design concepts/prototypes to meet customer needs.
Perform detailed design engineering including DFMEA, calculations, materials selection, verification & manufacturability & serviceability study while meeting the project schedule & performance requirements.
Design and selection of kinematic mechanisms.
Ensure design compliance to requirements and drive quality, schedule, and cost metrics.
Collaborate cross-functionally with global teams, systems engineering, Project management.
Mentor junior engineers and drive a culture of innovation, simplification, and fast execution.
Work on pre work for System systems engineering documents and requirements.
Design and selection of hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical actuation mechanisms.
Responsible for writing validation Spec, plans, manufacturing/assembly/service instructions.
Responsible for technical review of product specification to ensure compliance to set requirements.
Responsible for project metrics related to design reviews, design quality, schedule, and cost.
Responsible for writing component design specification, component purchase specification, design guides & templates.
Minimum Qualifications / Professional Experience
Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Mechanical/ Automotive / Electromechanical or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent.
Minimum 7+ years of experience in the Engineering Mechanical design and experience with Mechanism/Kinematic design.
Manufacturing methods and process

Hands on experience with Actuators and robotics
Knowledge on electrical products and integration of the same with mechanical systems.

Competencies Professional / Personal
Lead, mentor, guide and take decisions on Design & Product development work from Design stage to Production Stage of various Products.
Work on design and development for product expansions as customer requirements for new business opportunities.
Develop & analyze new ways to improve the existing products design & process to be cost effective while retaining their structural integrity by value addition and value engineering.
Work & assist on building product action plans and timelines including budget planning and establishing goals, roles and responsibilities.
Effectively interact with other departments & cross functional teams for product validation and implementation (e.g.Testing, QA, Engineering, Purchase, Production & Marketing).
Have developed a positive work relationship with suppliers in order to assist R & D with the development of new products, safety and quality issues.
Support in development, type testing of prototype & carry out design activities according to ISO
Involving product design, testing and preparation of specifications, process studies, conducting in-house testing & inspection to control quality.
Skilled in mechanical CAD design using SolidWorks and knowledgeable about electrical components and their integration with mechanical systems.
Adept at structural design, kinematic design calculations.
Experience in welding selection and Calculation and GD&T Tolerancing
Comprehensive understanding of materials selection.
Expertise in design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for reliability (DFR), RAMS, FMEA, and functional failure analysis.
Proven track record of delivering high on quality on Cost.
Proficient in design activities in compliance with ISO/En standards.
Design Tender support.
Experience using PLM tools such as Teamcenter for document control, drawing control, requirements management and engineering change control.
Excellent communication, influencing, and analytical skills with a good command of English.
Highly dynamic, proactive, self-motivated, and open-minded approach.
Willingness to travel within India and abroad as required.
