The Role: SQA Engineer

The Team: The Processing Testing group’s primary focus is on the testing phase of the product development cycle. The group also has a responsibility to champion quality and process improvements in the delivery of all applications that will be on-boarded on new (microservices based) platforms. Platforms are extensively using CD models and cutting-edge technologies viz Git, OpenShift, Elastic Search, Python, Cucumber Framework, Protractor Framework.

The strategic direction is the global harmonization of this platform and on-board various applications across the BU on this. QA group is technically supporting a cross functional team through an elaborated QA Infra and automation and performance test suite.

What’s in it for you: Works as a part of QA team with members in New York and London as well as Developers, technical architects, product staff and Business analysts to flush out requirements and create test plans, test scenarios, test cases and automation of test cases and create detailed test reports. Work with technical architects, infrastructure team to set up QA environments and establish required infrastructure for them. Initially the role is more of Individual contributor and then the expectations would be to manage a small team to start with.

A good understanding of BDD and financial background is preferable as the individual will liaise with technology leads, development teams, Business Analysts, Product Development, Product Managers, Operations/Evaluators and application support teams.

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for test planning & strategy for all testing engagements & opportunities (functional/automation) by working closely with test Manager

  • Conceptualize solutions, present & deliver.

  • Suggest process improvement, risk management, people management, testing delivery defining KPI’s & KRA’s

  • Work closely with the product team to understand the requirements from a business perspective.

  • Coordinate with Product and QA teams to ensure the specifications are implemented in Gherkin format and thus easier implementation to BDD automation framework.

  • Design and write maintainable automated feature scripts using Java, Cucumber/Gherkin, as well as manual tests as required.

  • Core delivery to Execute automated and functional test cases, review test results and report defects.

  • Able to work as a domain SME for the team and groom other team members on domain/functional aspects.

  • Extensive coordination with product and Dev team on requirement gaps and functional issues resolution

  • Manage the junior testers & their work allocation & active involvement in running UAT with business.

  • Coordination with the Performance test team to provide the necessary functional details.

What We’re Looking For: 

  • 5+ years of experience.

  • Understanding & Hands-on experience of Investment Banking Domain

  • Good understanding of Financial Products

  • Understanding of schema designing, XML messaging/MQ’s & assisting BA functions

  • Trade Lifecycle & Workflow Understanding

  • A programming experience in Java

  • Testing Certifications – ISTQB

  • Domain Certifications - NCFM, CFA Foundation

  • Understanding on Reference, trade & market Data platforms would be an added advantage.
