This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications throughout the development lifecycle. The role identifies and rectifies defects, ensures adherence to established quality standards, and contributes to the overall improvement of the software development process. The role creates and executes comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project specifications. The role monitors software performance and works with teams to optimize application performance and responsiveness.

Responsibilities:

• Designs quality assurance and test processes for portions of end-user applications, systems software, and firmware running on hardware, local, networked, and Internet-based platforms.

• Analyzes design and determines test scripts, coding, automation, and integration activities required based on specific objectives and established project guidelines.

• Executes and writes portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs issues with code and suggests changes or improvements.

• Collaborates with development teams to define testing requirements, scope, and objectives.

• Provides valuable input into the development of user stories and acceptance criteria, shaping a quality-oriented development process.

• Performs code reviews and participates in design discussions to identify potential quality issues.

• Documents test cases, test results, and defects in a clear and organized manner and shares with stakeholders.

• Participates as a member of project team of other software quality assurance engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable and cost-effective testing and quality assurance solutions for assigned software portion.

• Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners regarding software applications test status, project progress, and issue resolution.

• Contributes to a knowledge-sharing culture, sharing best practices and insights to uplift the collective testing expertise.

Education, Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor's or Engineering Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related

• Min. 2 years of work experience, preferably in software quality assurance, test harnesses and QA focused tools, or a related field. An advanced degree with little or no work experience is also an option

• Experience with hardware testing would be a big advantage

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal

• High sense of accountability for quality and timeliness for deliverables.
