As the architecture owner/designer for a downstream portfolio serving enterprise Retail & Wholesale business operations you will own architecture and design decisions for implementing and operating digital products. The portfolio supports nationwide Retail & Wholesale operations with a majority emphasis on Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain. There is an additional dozen applications within the portfolio utilizing various technology stacks.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of solution architecture experience in a mid to large retail, wholesale, or energy organization
  • 3+ years architecting cloud solutions including modernization, application integration and cloud-native development
  • ERP architecture and design experience
  • Azure cloud services experience
  • Solution architecture in DevOps culture (CI/CD pipelines, automation, configuration management, etc.)
  • Application modernization experience (migrations, transformations; re-platforming)
  • Data Storage Solutions: Ability to design data storage solutions in Azure, including databases, data analytics, and data warehousing.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish, document, and communicate the technical vision for the solution or product and the plan to achieve it in alignment to business outcomes and our architecture policies, standards, and roadmaps
  • Represent the technical perspective solutions to IT and business leadership
  • Develop and maintain architecture models, technical capability models and roadmaps for digital products and projects
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including product team, business clients, technical stakeholders, and third-party service providers
  • Participate in the daily stand up, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and other required sprint ceremonies/meetings
  • Identify and communicates technical/non-functional requirements to the Product Owner for Backlog refinement
  • Ensuring non-technical stakeholders understand the technical constraints, trade-offs or important decisions related to the solution.
  • Proactively monitors solution design for risks, issues, dependencies and collisions
  • Ensuring the delivery team understands how to develop/operate the solution


Location and other key details: 

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • This is an office based role, hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
