About the role:
As an AWS Kubernetes Engineer, you’ll help design the foundation for how our global fintech platforms perform and scale. Your expertise will influence selecting, operating and administering systems and software for our environment that supports vital business processes.
About the team:
FIS Cloud SRE is looking for an experienced Kubernetes Engineer (AKS/EKS/OpenShift preferred) to design, implement, and manage robust Kubernetes implementations, ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of containerized applications for a some of the largest financial institutions in the world. You will collaborate closely with development teams to optimize DevOps processes, ensuring seamless application deployments and management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a reliable, efficient container infrastructure that can adapt to fluctuations in demand. This is an exciting position to be part of a forward-thinking team that is at the forefront of container orchestration and cloud technologies.
What you will be doing:
Design, implement, and manage Kubernetes clusters to support diverse applications and services.
Automate infrastructure processes using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) practices to enhance efficiency.
Work closely with development teams to optimize DevOps processes, integrating Kubernetes with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Harness, GitLab CI), automating application deployments, and providing guidance on containerization best practices.
Ensure the performance, scalability, and reliability of Kubernetes environments through continuous monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting.
Implement and maintain best practices for container orchestration, deployment, and management
Will be working in a highly available, 24/7, public facing Linux environment.
What you will need:
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, deployment, and management (Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification is highly desired).
Extensive experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). Familiarity with AKS and EKS is beneficial.
Experience working in a high availability publicly facing ecosystem with 24/7 uptime and 99.99%+ SLA.
Experience working with commercial products in B2B or B2C environments.
Solid understanding of cloud-native technologies and microservices architectures.
Experience working with distributed systems, Linux software packaging, and networking/security principles.
Exposure to Terraform and HashiCorp suite of tools.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and deploy scalable, cloud-native applications.
Health system or other highly regulated environment experience is preferred.
Added bonus if you have:
Knowledge of FIS products and services a plus but not required
Knowledge of Financial Industry preferred.
