Develop and implement strategy for Customs operations in the region
Partner with approved agents & BPO to support daily import/export clearances and own shipment issue resolution
Partner with logistics, sourcing, fulfillment, ITO to provide Customs expertise
Special program opportunity identification & daily execution
Lead entry level compliance audits and broker invoice audits to ensure control
Participate in Biz QBRs with agents to address their areas of concern.
Respond to Internal/External requests & investigations
Manage TSA Pre-close and post-close tasks.
Active participation on all training
Active participation on mandatory EHS trainings and events.
Follow EHS rules and warn others to follow the rules.
Immediately report the incidents and near misses to the direct reports and EHS dept.
Immediately shut down the operation when realized life or serious injury risk present.
Further tasks not involved in this Job Description that the immediate leader/manager assigns with verbally or in writing.
Ensure trained personnel are supporting the Customs activities in the region
Manage local Customs agency relationship (government)
Report operational performance metrics on duty, quality, savings, opportunities, risks, accomplishments and value creation
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with major experience in customs processes
Fluent in Hungarian and English (verbal and written) - French language is a plus
Strong People Leader Experience
In country Professional Customs Certification or Accreditation
Ability to travel with region and occasionally globally
Advanced degree from accredited university
Professional Customs Certification or Accreditation
Expert in Lean Principles
Wing to wing expertise across customs processes
Demonstrated Compliance mindset
Demonstrated ability to use knowledge, experience, and instinct to make accurate and timely decisions
Demonstrated ability of working with all levels of internal and external organizations
Demonstrated ability to implement simple, fast and non-bureaucratic process improvements
Experience in working with global teams and demonstrates a global mindset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
