Johnson Control-Hitachi is a leading construction company committed to innovation, sustainability, and excellence. We are expanding our operations with a new infrastructure build-up project at our Guangzhou plant. We seek a highly skilled and experienced Project Category Manager to oversee and manage this critical initiative.

Job Summary:

The Project Category Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the infrastructure build-up project for our Guangzhou plant. This includes planning, budgeting, procurement, and ensuring the project is completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management, procurement, and infrastructure development, with a strong focus on efficiency, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Management:

  • Develop and manage the overall project plan, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project alignment and successful execution.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

Budgeting and Financial Management:

  • Prepare and manage the project budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial targets.
  • Track and report on project expenses, and manage any financial variances.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.

Procurement and Supplier Management:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and contractors for the project.
  • Manage the procurement process, including sourcing, tendering, and contract management.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and services, maintaining high-quality standards.

Quality and Compliance:

  • Ensure all project activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and materials.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance and quality.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders, including regular updates and progress reports.
  • Facilitate meetings and presentations to keep the project team informed and engaged.
  • Provide detailed project reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements and challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management, specifically in infrastructure development and build-up.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
  • Excellent budgeting and financial management skills.
  • Familiarity with local regulations and standards related to construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
