OVERVIEW:

Role Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in planning DSG-led events, in collaboration with Community Leadership team, including cost planning, ROI analysis, staffing coverage, internal and external communication, event day-of execution (setup to tear down) and ensuring all appropriate event waiver needs are in 100% compliance.

  • Implement all SOPs and checklists; ensure Field and Equipment Services Leads are familiar with SOPs.

  • Ensure compliance of all procedures, processes, documentation retention, training, certifications, and safety protocols, where applicable.

  • Oversee event experiences and ensure a fun and safe experience is provided to all athletes in this space.

  • Ensure proper maintenance of chiller, ice, ice skates, and Zamboni (must be trained to properly operate a Zamboni).

  • Ensures rink-related mechanical systems receive regularly scheduled maintenance and are monitored as instructed; reports any issues to the CED or Magic Ice USA corporate office.  

  • Ensure all ice skates rented are logged, setup, serviced and returned to fleet.

  • Understand and follow all ice rink policies, security protocols, and procedures from training by Magic Ice.

  • Ensure proper operation of all ice venue special events, open skating and holiday promotions.

  • Train new teammates and other HOS departments, as needed.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Scheduling & Operations:

  • Assist the store leadership team with general supervision in the store in accordance with Company policies and procedures, including opening and closing the store, performing Front End and Cash Office functions.

  • Maintain all rink equipment and other programmable spaces for proper use and cleanliness. Must safely and effectively remove snow from ice surface and surrounding areas to maintain a safe and clean environment for our athletes.

  • Ensure proper operation of all ice venue special events, open skating and holiday promotions.

  • Assist store leadership team with department scheduling, directing workflow, daily guide assignments, and monitoring project status.

  • Communicate information to teammates regarding Company initiatives, programs, promotions, etc.

  • Identify and address any safety concerns with the ice rink and equipment by maintaining Company loss prevention standards and controls.   

Physical Security & Safety

  • Adhere to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention and standard operating procedures, as well as to laws and guidelines of external governing entities.

  • Assist in creating, maintaining and ensuring compliance of safety related standard operating procedures for the building, service areas, including the climbing wall (if applicable) and rink/field.

  • Ensures the safety and security of teammates, athletes, and property per local regulations.

  • Ensure all certifications are completed and up to date.

Mentoring & Developing Talent:

  • Assist with training associates on Company procedures and programs; this includes new associate training and cross training current associates.

  • Ensure all events are staffed and well communicated to teammates while level setting expectations of Athlete engagement and activation execution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • 1-3 years experience

  • Prior Retail Experience Preferred.

Based on the location of the House of Sport, you may be required to submit relevant state mandated clearances to supervise minors.
