Position overview
We are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our Heavy Industrial Operations Engineering Team.
In this role you will utilize your manufacturing and project management experience to lead projects to drive manufacturing process improvements across the business team. You will be responsible for leading the design, development, and successful implementation into production of manufacturing engineering solutions to solve critical problems. You will work closely and collaborate with both the production team and various cross functional teams depending on the specific focus of the role. The role will be focused primarily on process technology, new product process development, automation, and/or digital technology. This position will be responsible to work within an environment of high uncertainty, requiring creative problem solving, a flexible approach, and utilization of risk mitigation techniques to accomplish project goals. It will be very critical that the candidate is self-motivated, can make decisions with little oversight and able to operate in an agile working environment.

Project Leadership: You will oversee and manage several projects simultaneously, developing project objectives and milestones and ensuring that each project is completed on time, within budget, and successfully implemented into production
Technical Leadership: Drive technical solutions across the business to improve manufacturing processes, indirectly leading other engineers or technicians. Make recommendations to management on technical aspects of a project, seen as a technical expert in one or more areas (project management, automation, controls, mechanical design, process flow, Six Sigma)
Relationships: build relationships with the direct production team as well as cross-functional teams. Work and communicate project goals at all business levels
Process Design: Design tooling, fixtures and workstations essential for new product introduction to the production cells. Provide “Design For Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)” feedback to design engineers during prototyping. Participate or lead in cross-team “Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)” to proactively mitigate failure modes in both process and design.
New Equipment: Manage the investigation, capital justification and purchase of new equipment and tooling. Participate in the definition of the equipment/process technology roadmap for the annual operating plan.
