The Guest Services Information Assistant greets patients and visitors to the VCU Health System and to assist them with obtaining accurate directions and visitation passes. This job ensures that patients with restricted visitation are appropriately respected and visitor passes are issued ONLY to those visitors that have permission. This job also monitors activities of assigned lobbies to maintain a safe environment and to assist patients who may be left waiting for long periods.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: N/A Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: N/A Experience REQUIRED: N/A Experience PREFERRED: One (1) year of previous customer service work experience Previous experience keyboarding Education/training REQUIRED: Must possess reading and writing skills and comprehend and communicate in English Education/training PREFERRED: High School Diploma or equivalent Independent action(s) required: Determine when a visitor may not be allowed due to restricted list and advise accordingly. Notify supervisor of any situation which precludes expected job performance (computer outage, phone, etc.). Determine if parking validation is appropriate based on criteria for usage of visitor deck. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A Additional position requirements: Ability to rotate all shifts including nights (until 9pm), weekends and holidays as needed.
