Develops new or modified process formulations, defines processing or handling equipment requirements and specifications, and reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of products. Involvement may begin at any step from pilot plant to full-scale manufacturing. Coordinates design requirement review with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to ensure compatibility of processing methods. Compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications. May conceive and plan projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes. Wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Typically requires a degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assists the GM in directing and supervising all aspects of operations, including engineering; building and grounds; technical services; event services, including ADA compliance; public safety; security; custodial services and parking departments.
- Manages the conversion & maintenance staff, duties include hiring, scheduling, & disciplinary reporting. Oversees the Operations budget, creating savings and efficient staffing.
- Coordinates the operations activities with other building departments and show-related contractors.
- Implement facility rules, regulation policies and procedures.
- Anticipate problems and appropriate solutions. Investigates, analyzes and resolves operational problems and complaints.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to other departments.
- Ensures that operations department receives pertinent information for most effective use of the facility and staffing.
- Advances local, regional and national touring events in the Arena, Theater, and Convention Center.
- Assures facility readiness and smooth operation of all events.
- Oversees maintenance of the physical plant and systems.
- Responsible for the Master MSDS log in the building.
- Serves as Manager on Duty as required.
- Work with promoters and clients to understand expectations of successful event and serve as facility liaison to promoters and clients.
- Establish event needs based on promoter and client expectations. Communicate staffing and logistical needs to internal department and outside agencies and vendors
- Prepare seating and event diagrams using AutoCAD
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manages subordinate supervisors in any of the following departments: Changeover, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Operations, Production, Engineering, Carpenters, Electricians, Plumbers, Technical Services, Event Services, Public Safety.
- Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
- BA/BS degree in Business Management or Maintenance Engineering OR
- 5 years’ related experience, including 2 years’ experience in supervising or managing teams in a similar facility
- Additional experience may be substituted for education
