Expedia Legal & Corporate Affairs (ELCA) is a full-service legal team incorporating Government Affairs and Legal. ELCA has teams dedicated to supporting each of our operating divisions and to certain types of law. This role suits someone who is keen to learn and develop their legal knowledge and skills in a supportive environment, is looking for interesting and challenging work and wishes to join a highly respected legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to join Expedia Group’s Legal team as Legal Counsel to support our Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo brands in APAC. You will be part of a team advising on a diverse range of matters, working closely with business clients to deliver exceptional products, services and experiences to our customers.

The role will be based in our Singapore office.

In this role, you will:

Support the strategic priorities of our brands in APAC on consumer, e-commerce, commercial and travel-related matters, including advising on:

  • Brand campaigns, marketing claims, loyalty and gift card arrangements, PR activities and regional projects and initiatives.

  • Website and app displays and product features across flight, lodging, car and activities lines of business.

  • Customer support policies and processes, providing guidance on agent and customer facing matters, creating playbooks and processes, advising on travel disruptions and customer communications.

You will also be collaborating with other key legal teams such as privacy, Government Affairs, regulatory, intellectual property and tax teams.

Experience and qualifications:

  • 6+ years solid experience as a qualified lawyer with a practical and confident commercial approach to problem-solving and managing legal risk. Experience working on a broad range of matters is required. In-house legal experience and/or advising on regional APAC issues will be beneficial.

  • Strong legal and communication skills who enjoys the challenge of working on complex issues and wishes to work closely with business clients.

  • A team player approach who is proactive and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced and fun environment.
