Position Summary:

The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying prospective customers, aiming to increase overall sales as we seek to expand our customer base for Heibar TN. This position is also responsible for developing & maintaining positive relationships with our existing customers, and works closely with our Materials and Design / Estimating Department’s to ensure coordination in reaching the organization’s goals. Heibar TN’s products and services to sell and service include but are not limited to; home framing building components, windows, interior doors, exterior doors, house trim, box stairs / closed stringer stairs, fireplace inserts, etc.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute an effective company strategy as it relates to sales.
  • Initiate contact with potential & existing customers to meet their needs by selling appropriate product/services.
  • Develop KPI’s to consistently monitor sales performance and overall strategy.
  • Investigate problems & provide solutions to customer complaints.
  • Works with component designers on assigned projects.
  • Prospects extensively and calls on Builder Customers along the front range.
  • Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of customer and identifying needs.
  • Networks with other suppliers & trade partners to find new opportunities for our products and services.
  • Keeps management informed by regularly reporting updates on activity & results.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, and delivery schedules.
  • Evaluates information regarding customer purchases, inventories, preferences and market trends, and revises sales strategy as appropriate.  
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results & competitive developments.
  • Resolve or facilitates resolution of customer complaints. Maintains positive relationship.
  • Participates in new product development and/or new product introductions.
  • Prepares various reports and maintains records as required.
  • Works with component designer on assigned projects.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); College education preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years of proven sales experience, including outside sales experience.
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Must have problem-solving skills, ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Must be consistently open to lean management of functions/work processes.
  • Open to change/leads change development.
  • Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans; uses time efficiently.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling.
  • Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
  • Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Work primarily involves sitting / standing, up to 4 hours at a time.

Travel Requirements:

  • Some travel and overnight stay required.
