We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Data Strategy Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing strategic reviews, finding opportunities for emerging technology, developing business capability roadmaps, and translating complex data into actionable insights for senior management. This role requires a solid understanding of business systems, strategy, and strategic planning while possessing the ability to communicate effectively with various partners.

What You Will Do:

  • Conduct comprehensive strategic reviews to identify areas for business improvement and optimization.

  • Explore and find opportunities for the application of emerging technology/artificial intelligence to enhance business processes and strategies.

  • Develop and maintain strategic roadmaps for business initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Translate complex data and technical information into clear, concise, and actionable insights for senior management.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Engineering & Asset Management, Asset Integrity, and Operations to ensure successful implementation of business strategies.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on business solutions, ensuring stability, performance, and governance objectives are met.

  • Capture and translate business requirements into strategic designs and recommendations.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and standard methodologies in business strategy, Generative AI applications, and strategic planning.

Who You Are: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of related experience in data analysis, strategic planning, and midstream applications.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct detailed strategic reviews and identify optimization opportunities.

  • Superb communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights for senior management.

  • Experience with business strategy development, including traditional and modern approaches.

  • Familiarity with Generative AI technologies and their applications in business strategy.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Experience with mobile applications, and data governance practices.

  • Knowledge of industry best practices and standards

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment

  • Travel, likely less than 2x per year to Calgary, Edmonton or other Operating regions or partner meetings.

  • Ability to travel to Canada required.

  • Company paid international relocation is not offered for this role.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, reads fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time. Physical fitness and able to work at heights (climbing wind turbine) and ability to successfully pass working at heights training and certification and wear full fall arrest harness and related equipment

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
