Marketing Data Analyst

This role is focused on Profit & Loss (P&L) management, data & analytics in Winfield United Crop Protection Marketing.  Expectations are to show high accuracy, attention to detail, critical thinking, accountability, and agility to support Marketing leads and execute upon key activities needed to run Crop Protection business. This role will also be a system lead, responsible for making decisions through understanding complex processes and dependencies to other system applications.

Key Duties/Areas of Responsibilities

Pricing & Administration execution - 40%

Ownership of all data within internal reporting of key margin data (Margin Master). Executes several tasks including maintenance and approval of price changes, price floors, and maintenance of discount programs to minimize errors and maintain profitability.  Work with P&L leads and executes pricing strategy including setting up leader-follower pricing rules and pricing floor overrides.

Analytics & Reporting - 35%

Utilize various internal data to identify discount outliers, facilitate comprehensive pricing reviews, support actions to be taken, and execute decisions by business partners including sales and marketing managers. Prepare reports for sales account managers per P&L lead or marketing request.  Lead standardization efforts to simplify reporting and create efficient methods to view and manage discount data.  Analyze marketing and sales data to develop actionable insights.  Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven marketing strategies.

Data and System management - 15%

Perform activities to monitor daily reports & investigate problems to address.  Examples could include duplication, adding/removing records, end dating, investigation into our robotic process automation bots, data validation checks, etc. Develop audit reports between systems of record to help proactively find data inaccuracies, integration failures, and other system related nuances.

Special Project Work - 10%

This role will have specific initiative work defined to them throughout various times of the year as Winfield United identifies key transformational opportunities.

Required Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Agriculture or related field along with 3-5 years relevant work experience or a MBA along with 1-3 years related experience required.

  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office Applications required.  Experience working with data in systems including but not limited to Alteryx, Oracle, and Snowflake desired.

  • Knowledge:  General knowledge of industry practices, preferable in the Agriculture sector.  Proven ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner

  • Problem Solving:  Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.  Refers to policies and practices for guidance.   Able to identify patterns quickly, interpret data, and translate it to actionable insights

  • Discretion/Latitude:  Works under only very general supervision.  Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.   Ability to handle sensitive industry data with utmost confidentiality, exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of duties

  • Impact:  Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals. 

  • Liaison:  Frequently communicate with internal resources and at times, external contacts.  Represents organization on specific projects in a professional manner.   Work with stakeholders to understand and meet their needs.

  • Proven aptitude to display agility, learn new tasks, stay highly organized and accurate.
