Other requirements: Must be enrolled at a SG university for the duration of your internship and doing a credit-bearing internship

What will you do?
Modern manufacturing is no longer just about finding ways to operate faster while reducing expenses; it is also about doing so in a data-driven and intelligent way. With technologies such as cloud and data analytics, the vast quantities of data generated can be processed and translated into actionable insights to diagnose problems and identify opportunities for improvement. With machine learning, highly intelligent systems can assist the workforce in optimising processes, predicting equipment failures and changes in demand patterns. At their best, these intelligent systems can also autonomously make decisions and respond to changing internal and external business needs.
During this internship, you will be supporting the data scientists and working within the Data Analytics team to structure and manage historical operational data in a way that will help to build predictive models to solve pharmaceutical manufacturing problems. You will help compiling findings and recommendations into reports.
You will also be using solutions such as MS Power Platform, BI or other dashboarding tools to develop new dashboards and visualization of business and process data. Where possible, you will support development of real-time monitoring & data analytics to fully leverage on collected data in our computer systems.
Data Science:
1) Develop the pipeline in the Data Intelligent Services platform to enable better handling of datasets and include new modes of analysis.
2) Participate in business use cases which entail working with chemists and engineers to understand the process, business requirements, creating predictive machine learning models, and developing recommendations to improve the manufacturing processes.
Dashboarding:
1) Create and deploy new performance dashboards and visualization
Management Skills:
You will also be given a chance to lead / assist the data scientist or project managers in the following:
1) Project management of a use case or digital application project
2) Prepare communication materials such as slides, videos for change management
3) Organize communication sessions with the site users
4) Join and lead / participate in company social events e.g. Environmental Sustainability or Social Welfare related
What will you learn?
You will learn about Pharmaceutical Primary Manufacturing and the use of data analytics and machine Learning to deliver business value
Acquire knowledge on the cross functional interconnectivity across operational, engineering, MSAT and quality functions to deliver the new technology solutions for improving processes and product quality attributes
Immersed in the site activities and understand how effective monitoring of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) can help drive improvement in performance.
Able to apply your knowledge of programming, data/computer sciences and analytics and learn soft skills in engaging different stakeholders from shopfloor to senior management to deliver a project
What are we looking for?
Strong written and oral communications skills
Excellent English proficiency
A keen interest in manufacturing and operational excellence
Meticulous, organized, and dedicated
Understanding and experience in using Python and SQL
Knowledge of other languages such as Visual Basic, Javascript will be beneficial.
