We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Risk Assessment Model Oversight Manager to join our Line 2 Financial Crime Compliance Function.

As part of our Controls, Models and Analytics Team, you'll play a key role in overseeing all changes to financial crime models, with a focus on Customer Risk Assessment. You'll also help us ensure we have robust controls and oversight in place to support our mission to deter, detect and disrupt financial crime.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Supporting the Line 2 Financial Crime Compliance function in providing rigorous oversight of Customer Risk Assessment (CRA) model related changes and assessing model effectiveness
  • Being responsible for the oversight of CRA, ensuring processes and controls are designed and operating effectively and identifying potential risk
  • Providing robust check and challenge of current Financial Crime (FC) controls and processes and advising on amendments or improvements
  • Ensuring good governance and providing oversight of all enhancement activities
  • Supporting the definition and oversight of calibration methodologies
  • Delivering presentations to internal & external stakeholders, both in written and verbal format

What you’ll bring:

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

  • Deep and/or broad understanding of the financial crime industry, the political and economic environment
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of regulatory framework of UK financial services, industry trends and best practice
  • Broad experience in Controls, Models and Analytics as a manager across different aspects of financial services / financial markets, and within a global organisation, particularly covering Financial Crime controls and Customer Risk Assessment
  • Excellent analytical, interpretation, influencing and communication skills; with an ability to communicate and network effectively to influence management and external parties

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • An understanding of Financial Crime systems and tools for transaction monitoring, customer screening, payment screening and customer risk assessment
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across the business to Senior Manager level
  • International Compliance Association (ICA) / Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) / equivalent qualifications

What else you need to know:

Our preferred location for this permanent role is Milton Keynes, but we’ll also consider locating the role in Glasgow, Bradford.

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).
