Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support regional/global sourcing initiatives either under the leadership of a regional/global Category Manager or independently if under a defined threshold. Each day, you will purchase materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule, and terms. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring the purchase activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures.

This role is contributing to the {Primary Switchgear/EL/ELDS/Procurement} in {Xiamen, China}. Main stakeholders are {Procurement Manager}.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Executing daily sourcing activities and managing supplier performance to support business objectives and operational continuity.
  • Supporting the resolution of critical issues concerning supplier quality, delivery and service together with cross-functional teams.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of regional/global sourcing strategies in close alignment with the regional/global category leader.
  • Leading commercial negotiating with key suppliers, and periodically renewing price lists and terms and conditions.
  • Running market benchmark studies for the Category team and for specific sourcing initiatives to ensure cost competitiveness.
  • Implementing cost-reduction programs and optimizing procurement efficiency by improving lead time, quality, and supply chain resilience.
  • Onboarding new suppliers, conducting regular supplier evaluations to ensure quality and delivery requirements are met.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or related fields
  • 5+ years of procurement experience in chemicals, plastics, and insulation materials; prior experience with epoxy resin, instrument transformers, insulation components, and electrical plastic components is highly preferred 
  • Demonstrated capability in supplier development, cost analysis and negotiation, category strategy, and risk management 
  • Strong communication, execution, and cross-functional collaboration capability in a matrix organization
  • Self-motivated, results-driven with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and data analytics tools is required
  • Fluent in English; occasional domestic business travel required
